Hello! Welcome to the first news post from The Stitchery. I don’t think there’s a better way to kick off than with my first design project, a home studio for my new business! The aim for this space was home office meets a place to bring clients, along with a space to create room schemes and inspire creativity.
My other half, Andrew, stripping things back and finding some huge hives! – Mid June 2020
The room that became the studio was originally the old coal house connected to the main house by a hallway, that has become a very useful boot room. Expect another post on the DIY boot room to come soon.

With excellent trades on the job, the project was turned around in just a few weeks. The focal point of the room is a book case / display shelf, to house products, and fabric samples. The design was inspired by a mixture of images found on Pinterest. I drew up a rough sketch and gave it my carpenter who put this together, and I could not be more pleased with how it turned out. The picture / library lights finish it off perfectly continuing the very pleasing symmetry.

The furniture and accessories in the room are a mixture of old favourites and new finds. See below for a list of product / furniture sources:
Desk and Console – Scumble Goosie
Pendant lights and footstool – Cowshed Interiors
Jute rug – Ikea
Hide rug – a very old find
Louis chairs – Antique Ebay Seller
Library lights and wall sconces – Jim Lawrence
Wide plank hardwood flooring – UK Flooring Direct
I hope one day in the not to distant future I can welcome clients to the studio, and have a launch party at some point! In the meantime, all home decor products and accessories can be purchased online on the refreshed website or via my Etsy storefront
Until next time, stay well and safe!
